The agricultural potential of Mozambique at the service of the community
At Zajabu, we aim to transform the agricultural and commercial opportunities in Africa into an additional and sustainable source of funding for the human development of the region. We are convinced that the best way to foster the progress and social advancement of underprivileged areas is through professionally managed private investment that positions itself in markets with great agricultural potential.
Zajabu was born with this goal: a Spanish social impact investment with an African vocation. We are dedicated to the commercialization of high added-value African natural products. We have started our activity with a plantation of Moringa oleifera, a “miracle tree” that offers numerous commercial applications in the fields of food and cosmetics.
We have already planted 50,000 trees on land ceded by the Casa do Gaiato de Maputo, a Mozambican charitable institution, and an additional 40,000 in nearby villages with the support of the La Caixa Foundation and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID). We process our products there and then market them in European markets. We allocate 50% of our profits to funding development activities in the area, and we offer employment opportunities to disadvantaged groups.

We carry out our crops in an ecological environment and thus contribute to a more sustainable world.
Fair and Responsible Trade
We offer working and economic conditions that ensure the integral development and economic, social, and environmental sustainability of local communities. We focus on women and young people, two groups that especially need support.
High Added Value
We are not a traditional plantation: we aim to specialize in healthy products with valuable applications that provide income to local producers.
Social Impact
We invest half of our profits in the activities of Casa do Gaiato de Maputo, on whose land we develop our activities.
